Bill's most recent book is Merchants of Virtue: Herman Miller and the Making of a Sustainable Company (Palgrave Macmillan 2011). Other books include Nature's Keepers (Jossey-Bass, 2005), the story of the Nature Conservancy, the largest environmental organization in the world, the award-winning Counting What Counts (Perseus Books, 1999) about the crisis in corporate accountability, co-authored with Marc J. Epstein; and The One-Minute Meditator (Perseus Books, 2001) about reducing stress and finding meaning in everyday life through the practice of meditation, co-authored with David Nichol, M.D.
During the past fifteen years, Bill has written for Fast Company, CFO, Chief Executive, Strategy + Business, and Tomorrow magazines. In the 1990s, he was editor of Enterprise, a quarterly business magazine for executives published by Digital Equipment Corporation.
